When the chief’s daughter gave birth, her baby was not spared. One evening while mulling about the fate of her baby, the chief’s daughter heard her dead baby’s cries and followed it to a palm tree in the tribal village. The next morning, she was found dead under the palm tree. When the tribesmen looked up into the tree, they found clumps of blue berries that eventually saved the whole tribe from starvation.
